Two years running now David Thomas of Lyon des Sables has won Namibia’s chef of the year award. Leisure Times is not at all surpised. When we eat there, we just tell David to surprise us with whatever he is in the mood to cook that day. A true chef, highly trained in all of the basics of cooking, David also has a strong creative streak that keeps his menus fresh and exciting. The restaurant is moving in 2012. They are building a new restaurant on Walvis Bay’s lagoon. It will look much different than the picture above, but you can be sure the new restaurant will be held to the same standards of quality, creativity and ambience.
